These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and ClassMate Connect (“ClassMate Connect,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By using classmateconnect.org, submitting content, or purchasing a posting service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the service. If you are under 18, you may use the service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. A parent or guardian who permits a minor to use the service agrees to supervise that use and is responsible for the minor’s activity.
The service
ClassMate Connect accepts student introductions, photos, and captions; prepares them for review; and arranges publication on a selected school-focused social media page. We may crop, format, edit for technical requirements, review, schedule, publish, decline, or remove a submission consistent with these Terms.
ClassMate Connect is an independent service. Unless expressly stated, we are not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or affiliated with any college, university, Instagram, or Meta. A listing or school-focused page does not imply an official relationship with that school.
Your submission and permissions
You keep ownership of content you submit. You represent and warrant that:
- The information you provide is accurate and is about you.
- You own the submitted photos and text or have all permissions needed to submit and publish them.
- Every identifiable person shown in a photo has agreed to the photo’s submission and public posting, and a parent or guardian has agreed where required for a minor.
- Your content and our permitted use of it will not violate anyone’s rights.
You grant ClassMate Connect a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, crop, format, adapt, display, distribute, and publish your submission for the purpose of operating, promoting, and documenting the requested posting service. This license includes permission to send the content to service providers and the selected social media page. It continues for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service and maintain records, and for public posts already made, subject to applicable law and reasonable removal requests.
Content rules
You may not submit or use the service for content that:
- Is unlawful, fraudulent, threatening, harassing, hateful, or defamatory.
- Is sexually explicit, exploitative, invasive of privacy, or unsafe, particularly where a minor is involved.
- Impersonates another person or exposes another person’s private information without permission.
- Infringes copyrights, publicity rights, trademarks, or other rights.
- Contains malicious code or attempts to disrupt or misuse the service.
- Promotes illegal activity, violence, scams, or prohibited goods or services.
We may reject, pause, remove, or report content that we reasonably believe violates these rules, creates risk, or is unsuitable for the selected page.
Posting times and review
Posting windows shown at checkout begin after we receive a complete submission and successful payment. We make reasonable efforts to meet the selected posting window, but review needs, incomplete information, platform outages, account restrictions, emergencies, and events outside our control may cause delays. If we miss a paid posting window for reasons within our control, contact us so we can review an appropriate remedy.
We do not guarantee a particular number of views, likes, followers, messages, friendships, admissions outcomes, or other results.
Prices, recurring billing, and cancellation
Prices, posting options, promotions, and billing frequency are presented before checkout. Card plans are recurring monthly subscriptions processed by Stripe and automatically renew until canceled. By completing card checkout, you authorize Stripe to charge the payment method on file at each renewal. A Venmo checkout is a one-time payment processed by PayPal and does not renew.
You may manage or cancel future renewals through the Customer Portal on our homepage. Cancellation takes effect for future billing and does not automatically remove content already published. Except where required by law or expressly agreed as a remedy, completed charges are non-refundable and we do not provide prorated refunds. Promo codes are subject to their displayed terms and may be changed or withdrawn before use.
Third-party services
The service relies on third parties, including Stripe, PayPal and Venmo, Supabase, Vercel, Make, Instagram, and Meta. Their services, availability, and policies are outside our control and may be governed by separate terms. We are not responsible for a third party’s independent acts, outages, policy decisions, or handling of content after it is transferred or published.
Our materials
The ClassMate Connect name, site design, software, text, graphics, and other materials we provide—excluding user content—are owned by us or our licensors. You may use the service only for its intended personal purpose and may not copy, resell, reverse engineer, scrape, or exploit it without permission.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access, decline a submission, or remove content when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, protect people or the service, respond to platform requirements, or comply with law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue, including content permissions, payment obligations, disclaimers, and limitations of liability.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or accepted by a third-party platform. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ClassMate Connect will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, opportunities, profits, goodwill, or reputation arising from the service or public sharing of submitted content. Our total liability for a claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the service giving rise to the claim during the previous 12 months or $100. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
Your responsibility
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, and reasonable costs resulting from your submitted content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the service changes. Revised Terms will be posted here with a new effective date. Changes apply prospectively. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
